BeWelcome March 2016 Newsletter

Dear %anonymous%,

You are part of a growing community of almost 90,000 members! This organic and consistent growth is mainly based on word-of-mouth recommendations. Although BeWelcome is not about numbers we still need to grow to eliminate some white spots on our world map - we want you to find friendly hosts literally everywhere in the world. Alongside this growth, we are constantly working on the platform to improve your hospitality experiences. Here is the news of what has been happening on BeWelcome over the last few months.

Interview with volunteers

Everything happening on BeWelcome is because somebody volunteered to do this. Most of our volunteers work silently behind the scene and you might not even have noticed who they are. We would like to change this and introduce you to some of the many active volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to BeWelcome - so please read up the first personal interview with our volunteer artep from the New Member BeWelcome Team.

If you are looking for more responsibility and a challenge you are welcome to volunteer for tasks within BeWelcome and to join BeVolunteer, the non-profit organization which administrates BeWelcome.

BeWelcome Events

The BeWelcomers of Toulouse in the south of France invite you to Seek the Duck together with them. It will be the 5th time already that this weekend full of joy and great encounters with more or less crazy travellers will take place. Join it - it is surely going to be BIIIIG fun again!

Are you spontaneous and have no other plans for the first weekend of April? Then pack your toothbrush and head to the beautiful World Cultural Heritage city of Lyon/France where the local BeWelcome community organizes an eventful and unforgettable weekend called Seek the Pig ... Yes - they were inspired by "Seek the Duck" ... How about you getting inspired as well and start organizing a BeWelcome weekend?

Donation campaign

This year's donation campaign went really well - a HUGE thank you to all donors! Our goal was to reach 1700 Euros during the financial year 2015/2016. It took us six weeks until we reached half of the sum and by the end of February we got all the money together that we need to keep BeWelcome up and running for another year. Although BeWelcome is entirely run by volunteers who do not receive any money for their hours and days and months of work we still need money to cover expenses like server costs, insurance, bank fees and so on. More details on http://www.bewelcome.org/donate.

Terms of Use

We made it! Our new Terms of Use are valid since March 1st, 2016.
