    • finding an international bank with online banking for us (Jean-Yves) pending...
    • Check with Kaspar about two separate wikis (one public) and check out the use of templates from one wiki to the other (Pierre-Charles, Frank)DONE (further investigation needed, it seems to be more complicated...)

  • 6 BW Logo
    • result: absolute majority for number 5, discussion ends at June 27, Micha suggested to have the final logo by June, 29 (end of next week)
  • 7 Changing the BW Beta news page The news as they are now are not a good solution as they are outdated (last entry in April) and don t really give useful information to our members (they want to see the project first before getting to know what changes have been done. Logical, no?) I suggest to delete that beta news page and replace it by a new (is it ready?) index page where we have the latest news in the left column (see www.couchsurfing.com as example). Can the TB blog system be used to announce news? What is the value of those beta news at all? Kiwiflave 12:51, 21 June 2007 (CEST)
    • new page is in progress with a nice way of presenting relevant news (Micha is working on it: http://test.bewelcome.org/playground/main.html)
    • old page should be updated a bit (new news ;-) )
  • 8 registering BeWelcome trademark

I don't remember if we discussed this before: would it be necessary to register the logo, name somehow? If so, how would we go about it? (To be added as task for the legal team - Kasper and Pascal are the pros here)Kiwiflave 15:55, 21 June 2007 (CEST)

(I know a little bit about trademarks, but I'm definitely not "pro". guakaguaka, wikitalk 17:20, 21 June 2007 (CEST))

This task has been delegated to the legal team!

  • 9 key language of our project

For HC and CS it is obvious that English is the key language. During the mission statement discussion Claudia pointed out that many of our members will have a very low level of English and this made me think how we can address more people with Spanish background (as there are many of those on our lovely planet) or the Asian languages... This could be a real asset compared to the American CouchSurfing. Our own identity... (?) Kiwiflave 12:51, 21 June 2007 (CEST)

We should try to motivate volunteers to finish translations (esp. Spanish) and try to recruit volunteers for more languages.

  • 10 Financial report
    • spreadsheet looks fine
    • accurate numbers or rounded numbers? -> accurate numbers to be used
    • contact persons for donations: treasurer and vice treasurer
    • OTRS suqueue of BoD queue is to be used for communication with donators or sponsors
  • 11 Other
    • more comments / feedback about efficiency, respect and discipline?

I strongly suggest to follow our principle (what is written down in our democratic work approach) to delegate decisions and "power" to the teams and limit the general discussions. We should stop to expect people to participate in everything, the time so far showed that outside their team members are not so much interested in participating in strategic or organisational discussions. A bit less democratic expectations, a bit more work efficiency... Kiwiflave 12:51, 21 June 2007 (CEST)

    • adding Pascal as delegate for bookkeeping and financial information. As team coordinator of the legal team he is a perfect link between financial and legal issues and he has some experience in bookkeeping.
  • Week Action plan
    • approving report (Micha, Florian)
    • finding an international bank with online banking for us (Jean-Yves) pending...
    • set up routine for handling donations (communication etc) (Jean-Yves, Micha)
    • contact Pascal about the status of translation of statutes (Claudia)
    • take care of wiki public page / main page (links etc) (Frank, Pierre-Charles)
    • take care of new content on main page BW or check progress of new main page with JY and Micha (Florian)
    • contact Pascal about trademark issue (Florian)
    • try to activate Spanish translators to finish Spanish translation of BW (also others, of course) - maybe start a thread in BW forum: Request for help (Irina)
    • contact Pascal about being delegate for financial information and update the wiki (financial page) (Jean-Yves)

Meeting ended at: 22:10
