About me

My name is John Koh who are an active Couch Surfing Member Host(98%) & Surf(2%) since July 2012 which I have been hosted more than 90 female (couples too) and 6 male surfers from around the world back in my hometown, Penang Island and some in KL where I worked since June 2014 till present.

I have 148 references and been Vouched for 18 times in Couch Surfing since I joined on July 2012 until Jan 2015. There is no more "Vouch" function in new Couch Surfing System since Sept 2014.

Vouch means assert or confirm as a result of one's own experience the truth or accuracy of (something).
Show the truth of, give substance to, give credence to, second, endorse, certify, warrant, validate, give assurance of; more confirm the identity or good character of (someone).

- 144 Positive References
- 2 Neutral (Helping the CS members to get to a hostel when I happened to meet them during our CS meet up
in Penang Island and just met briefly that's why they put as Neutral)
- 2 Negative (due to misunderstanding, e.g my bed is too small for her and have to share on the same
bed<--which I have already mentioned in my profile and I have been hosted more than 90 female from
around the world and there is no issue)
*I don't hide that I have negative reference because this was the truth. The "Truth Never Lies" and no one in the world is perfect and people do mistakes so am I. I'm learning every day.

Well, I'm currently working in KL - Kuala Lumpur as Trade Finance Operations Managers since end of July 2015 at one of the biggest Singapore's Bank based in KL after my previous job as HR Executive for MRT and Tunnelling Project from June 2014 to July 2015.

I am now stay at the apartment with swimming pool and gymnasium facilities near Pudu Sentral (Puduraya Bus Terminal) 3 minutes walk to Jalan Alor(Food Street) Bukit Bintang, 10 minutes walking distance. 5 minutes to Bukit Bintang where at the heart of the Golden Triangle which covers Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Ampang and from Jalan Imbi to Jalan Pudu. Bukit Bintang or also known as Star Hill is synonymous with shopping and entertainment. Many hotels, restaurant and hawker-styled eateries are located here. Bintang Walk, located along Jalan Bukit Bintang shopping strip, has a row of street-side cafes, restaurants and pubs. At night, it comes alive, when live Jazz music is played and the whole place is beautifully lit-up.

You may stay with me in KL as long as I'm still working here. If I go back to my hometown then you may stay with me in Penang Island, Malaysia.

I am 33 years old Chinese-Malaysian young adult who have resigned on 31st Dec 2013 as Account Receivable Analyst at Dell because I want to travel longer instead of just 1 or 2 weeks time. It was my first time in my life to quit the job and became a jobless from 1 Jan 2014 until 22 June 2014. I've got a new job offer which was given an opportunity as Human Resources Executive at Continental Engineering Corporation where they are expertise in tunnelling to excavate the tunnel in KL-Kuala Lumpur for MRT-Mass Rapid Transit. Currently, is the biggest project in Malaysia implemented by government. I'm working in KL since June 2014 till present.

I have been travelled to Europe for 3 months from 12 Feb 2014 until 12 May 2014 with just EUR1000 which are very challenging... --> France(Paris, Bregtane(Volunteer with my friend's family cattle farm-milking cow), Morlaix, Lower Normandy-Pont-Farcy(Volunteer for 10 days in the farm) Boulogne-sur-Mer, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulouse), Spain Gandia(Volunteer for a week with disabled man), Valencia, Italy-Bologna, Slovenia-Piran, Portoroz, Kranj, Ljubjana, Germany-Bisigen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Berlin, Rostock, Hamburg, Dortmund, Witten, Bremen, Poland-Leszno, Krobia, Wroclaw, Poznan, Netherlands-Heerhugowaard, Alkmaar, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Belgium-Leuven, Brussesl(few hours)...

I have been worked with Dell as Account Receivable Analyst for 2 years plus(Sept 2011 to Dec 2013) and Citigroup (Citibank) for the past 8 years plus(July 2003 to Sept 2011) as Finance Officer both in Penang Island, Malaysia. I did my own business partnership with five of my friends as a electronic components distributor in Penang Island before and it was closed due to redundancy after a year.

I'm a sportive type of person also a friendly, open-minded, easy-going and nice. I am a person who easy to make friends quickly and that it's easy to get along with me.

I am a non-smoker and drinker(I don't really good in drinking a beer)

I am looking forward to experiencing other people's culture. I want to get to know people from many different places.

I like to jog, run, hike, cycle, play squash and outdoor activities like food hunting, watching movie or hang out with people for a drinks (coffee tea or me ? :) ) and many more...

I like to see what other people like to do the most, especially when I'm traveling. In order for me to learn from them by seeing.

I'm sure I would be pleasant to host. I am generally a polite person and a bit shy :)

I love traveling but restricted by work commitment(I did it to quit my job on 31 Dec 2013 and travelled and back to corporate world again from 23 June 2014 till present. I will quit again and explore the world soon). I hope to travel more in the near future with a special lady that I have yet to find.

My philosophy and believe :

Our life cannot be always full of happiness. But it can be full of love.

Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forgiving those who have hurt us and medicating the wounds we have caused others.

Love will lead to forgiving others

1 corinthians 13:4 - 6 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.

Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determinations!

There can be Miracles, when you Believe!

The best is yet to come...be positive, patient and wait.

If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves!

Time Will Prove Everything & The Truth Never Lies!
