Hey,

I love the new way finding members has been organized.  It looks really cool.  One problem is that when I click on people's names it takes me to my own home page and not that person's page.  I dont know what / why the bug does this but I assume it only happens to me because no one else has complained of this yet.  Can u help me out on this?

Thanks

Lovely the new search, thats a good step in the right direction.

I don t like that I can t search for a member of the "Environmentalist" group in Germany with the Advanced search.

If  pop outthe Advanced search I can choose the environmentalist group but then I can t search for Location. If I activate the Environmentalists group and search in the Top Field (Location) for Germany it gives me "Location not found".

Maybe there is a way to search for Environmentalists in Germany with the new search but I could not figure it out...

@jared - I indeed can't reproduce the bug you describe. Maybe you can be a bit more specifc (what kind of browser do you use ...) and try to delete your cache before trying again.

@fabzgy - it is working, but you have to you have to click the "search"  button from the advanced search field instead of the upper one - not really intuitive and convenient, I agree, hope that we imprve that.

just some more:

I use firefox (2.0.0.13) Mac/Tiger.

seems to ignore regions and jumps to Germany:

search: niedersachsen, bayern, baden würtenberg always: 442 members

 -------------------------------------

switching between map->text 12 sec. loading time (broadband)

switching between text ->map 17 sec. loading time (broadband)

--------------------------------------

search: Berlin

sorting order: age ->57 members

sorting order: last login, acco., new members, comments->75 members

why is there a difference between 57 and 75?

4 script errors (firebug)

-----------------------------------

links: 26 ..50 and so on don't work.

document.getElementById(field) has no propertiesfunction get_val(field) {return document.getElementById(field).value;} searchmembers.js (line 324)

----------------------------------

We do no have the browse country link anymore?

Anyway amazing work guys, great design, functionality and usability - still some bugs but great work.

It's working great for me, no problems on IE6 (the only browser installed on my work computer)

Works great and looks fantastic!

Some points:

  • The entire teaser (the orange bar) could be a bit smaller, giving more space for the list of results
  • switching between map view and list view requires some waiting. Maybe we can speed that up if we keep both views ready in inline frames, or as hidden divs?
  • The small list is fine in the usual case - but maybe it could be enhanced with some kind of tooltip showing more info for a single member...

hi!

the new "find members" page is definitely quite good! but to me a "browse countries/regions" page is also needed - why was it removed? sometimes it is just more functional. As for Switzerland, Austria, no members appear on the map, but on a simple listing of the countries/regions/cities, you could quite easy see which members there live. and yes, statistics Are interesting to the user: so you can see at a glance how many members in each country/region live etc. without having to use the "search"-function every time ..
