LIMA
Getting There
If you arrive by AIR:
Lima, although being a big city, it also has a large, dense vehicular population, which means traffic can slow be very chaotic. There are many buses and taxis all around, however we ask you to follow these recommendations:
-
-
- It is much safer if you take a taxi to your destination. And better if you take it inside, although it may be kind of expensive, it is safer and reliable. There are small counters outside the hallway where you can ask for a ride, and the prices will vary depending where you want to go.
- If your budget does not adjust to the prices, you may be able to bargain, however company taxis always have their prices fixed. If you go outside the airport, most buses and taxis circulate through Avenida Faucett, but we recommend extreme caution when you take a cab outside.
- If you want to take the bus, I suggest you take a taxi to the Metropolitano Bus Station Tomas Valle. There the card cost you 5 soles, but then you need to charge it with S/.1.50 soles for the fee. The card is yours to take, and the bus will take you to downtown Lima and Miraflores. Cards are rechargeable.
- By any means, do not accept transportation from persons inside or outside the airport that are not properly identified or are not part of a trusted taxi company. Usually there will be people standing at the premises stalking visitors to take a ride.
-
If you arrive by GROUND:
-
-
- There are several Bus Terminals throughout the city. Mostly they are also close to the Metropolitano Bus Stations. Once you get to the stations, it is easy to reach Downtown Lima and Miraflores.
