We met on several occassions through hospitalityclub a long time ago.

Frank is a fun person to hang out with, always interested in cultural exchange and very laid back. I met him at one of my events in Gent, I joined one of his events at his hometown and he hosted me when I was working in Brussels for a fair. I would defenitely recommend Frank as a host.

We met on numerous occassions through different hospitality exchange networks. Both as guests (at a brunch) and hosts (on a walk I organised).

Photogirl123 is an "old-skool" hospex member who still believes in the tradition of giving and taking and reciprocity.

She is extravert (in a good way) so you won't be bored meeting her and she has enough cool stories and many interests so you'll always have stuff to talk about.

I'm already looking forward to our next meeting.

It was a pleasure to host me_mulder and her boyfriend.

They are the ideal guests: open, friendly, social and helpful.

I was impressed by their future plans and they way they are as a couple.

We played games, talked and enjoyed their company.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at their place for two days.

Frank and his wife were so kind to let us stay on Easter and the day after. Both are very open and interesting people. The whole family was very warm and open. Frank is very knowledgeable and thought us a lot about Grimbergen and even about our own place. With his help, we saw a lot of interesting places around Grimbergen.

It was a pleasure to host riltim and his girlfriend. They are very social and easy-going people. We had nice talks and played games together, and they were interested in getting to know us, which is always a nice feeling.

They are in my book the perfect guests, friendly, considerate, no-fuss and willing to interact.

We met first at a Servas-BeWelcome meeting in Mirano and later in Padova

John and I worked together on an international website for Servas. Unfortunately that didn't happen (yet) but I got to know him a bit and like the way he speaks his mind in a non-confrontational style.
To me he symbolizes what Servas is all about: a peaceful, open, welcoming man. Come to think of it, he also symbolizes BeWelcome :)

I met Frank at the BeWelcome Unconference in Brussels 2013. We have been discussing in group for two days. I think his kind, careful and inclusive attitude make it easy to get along with him. I'm really glad BeWelcome has such members, whose commitment for the community makes it grow from a human and pratical point of view.

At the Brussels Unconference, March 2013

I had seen Paolo's forum posts before I met him at the Brussels Unconference, and the personality behind the forum posts was the same as in real life: a simple, open, diplomatic guy who likes to come to a concensus without giving up on his own principles.

I felt immediately at ease with Paolo, and am looking forward to meeting him soon when my family and I are travelling through Italy.

Winterwalk meeting in Ghent

I met Thorgal and his family during the first BW meeting in Ghent, and we had a good time. It was nice and relax to talk to him and to listen to the stories about his family and his travels. We also had some relax talks about how they contribute to BW and to other projects in the past and we shared some opinions. I appreciate that we could talk about this in an open-minded way without any feelings of judgement :) It was nice to meet you and we’ll probably meet again on another meeting!

I had the opportunity to talk quite a bit with Toyominh's and found his knowledge about different subjects very refreshing.

It is clear that he is not a member of our community for the sake of free accommodation, but has a genuine interest in meeting other people, cultures and traditions.

We met at a nature walk near Gent

It was nice meeting Johanna. Thanks to her expert guiding we didn't get lost in the Bourgoyen. I was also impressed by her language skills, it's not often you meet a Belgian who speaks fluent Mandarin.

thorgal67 and claudiaab stayed a night at my place and we met again, when they went back home staying with Fernando and Martina.

thorgal67 was right about the fact that we might meet again: I met them both in Aachen for a coffee and thorgal67 again in Bruxelles were he hosted me.

Now I stayed with them again for three nights in Grimbergen.

Frank and Claudia are nice people and have a great deal to tell about hospitality networks ;-)

I enjoyed their company every time I met them and now I even got a change to get to know the kids as well.

We met at Shevek's place in central Linz (well..isn't everything in Linz considered 'central' LOL).

Shevek was the first real BeWelcome host that claudiaab and myself stayed at, and it was a great experience. A passionate vegan guy with lots of boardgames, good cooking skills and knowledgable on many subjects...a splendid time is guaranteed for all :)

I'm sure we'll meet again, the world is just to small not to.

We met several times in Estonia

A wonderful host and a good friend. Ele is amazing, always trying to make you feel at ease. And it works ! Not a dull or boring moment, always interesting ideas. She really likes life and enjoys it to the maximum.
It is like she thinks : "Why waste the opportunity to go to the beach, to meet nice people, to go dancing,...let's go !"

And you can also talk to her about every kind of subject, she has a broad perspective. I hope to meet her time and time again !

He hosted me for 3 nights in Grimbergen.

Frank and his family welcomed me in their very comfortable home in Grimbergen and were incredibly hospitable. He also organized a wonderful BeWelcome meet-up in Brussels and showed us around in the quarters De Marollen and Le Sablon. Sitatara stayed at our place for three days

It was nice to have Sitatara visit us in rainy Belgium. She and her friend were very thoughtful guests (and quiet as a mouse...always a bonus when you have small kids who need to go to bed early LOL). We visited Brussels together and I hope they enjoyed their stay as much as I enjoyed their company.

I'm also very happy of Sitatara's envolvement in BeWelcome, it's nice to know there are members who take safety & privacy seriously.

p.s., I apologize for not having been around a lot and of course also for the weather. I promise i'll be a better host next time and will also provide nicer/drier weather

We should have met before (at guaka's place) but we just missed him. Luckily I had the chance to meet up with him in Brussels.

Even though we only talked for a short time (and I did most of the talking LOL) I felt really comfortable in his presence and he looks like an interesting person. I'm sure we'll meet up again in the future, whether it's in Lyon, Toulouse, Lille, Berlin or Brussels.

I met Frank and his family when he hosted me at grimbergen before going to the 2012 general assembly.

Frank has been a really generous host. He opened the doors of his home and they made me feel a litle as part of the family. I felt really comfortable at his place at grimbergen and I enjoyed traveling and sharing the hard work of the general assembly, he is a great volunteer and a real hospitality example.

We first met online a lot since we are both on the Bod of BeVolunteer and then he stayed one week at our place in Grimbergen

It was great finally meeting Pablo in real life. He was an excellent guest and I learned a lot about Argentina, yerba mate, glutenfree diets and karaoke :)
We drove to Germany together and stayed two days with our hosts there.
Too bad Argentina is so far away, because i'm sure we would meet up more often.

I met her at her home in Halle, where I stayed two days

Gertraud was a great host, welcoming me in her home through an invitation from her daughter. We got along very well and it was nice to meet her husband and daughter.

We had nice conversations and she is a person who knows a great deal and who is willing to share that knowledge.

A very warm and trustworthy person and I hope (and am sure) we will meet again.

oh, and her nickname refers to a very nice garden they have :) The apples are the best I have eaten...too bad they only are this good once every two years. Shall I come back in 2014 then? :)

We stayed 3 days at Kathie's place in Leek near the Peak District

Kathie contacted me first on the forum when I talked about Liverpool and the Beatles, inviting me to meet up. Later she hosted me and my family, even though she was working in London. Her husband and son took care of us and made us feel very welcome. We decided to stay until kathie came back from London and it was wonderful meeting her. Our oldest daughter was impressed with her drawing skills and we hope to meet her (and her family) again soon. Very trustworthy member.

Kallegrill first contacted me through the forum when he found out that I was travelling through England with my family. He offered to host us (we already had hosts by then) and gave us useful information about what to do with kids in Stoke-on-Trent (the pottery museum is awesome, thanks for the info). We met at his place for scones and tea, and our daughters played with his lovely son. He is very trustworthy and a pleasure to talk to. When i met Emily, i did not even know she was a BW member. But her partner tealeaf hosted us and then it turned out she was a member as well. We were travelling with our two daughters and they had a great time with her two boys, D&G. We felt right at home shared food like old friends. We met in Brussels for the general assembly.

Criirsara hosted my daughter, my wife and myself at her place in Bozen/Bolzano

Criirsara made us feel at home, and she invited some friends. We had a nice dinner together and it was nice talking to her, She has quite an interesting life and I was surprised to learn she speaks Ladin (a Rhaeto-Romance language spoken in the Dolomite mountains).
Too bad our meeting was so short, but I'm looking forward to meeting her again soon.

Elisa stayed two nights at our place when she was participating in the Brussels' Marathon

Elisa will say she is not very communicative, but I had a great time listening to her stories about her work in Riga and they way she prepared herself for the marathon.
She was a generous host (thanks for the chocolate and the Riga Black Balsam) and she was genuinely interested in our way of life. It was nice having her stay at our place and I hope to meet her again soon.

it was great to meet mazze and his girlfriend. They made us feel welcome and we had a very nice meal and talks about photography and travelling

Hannu came with his friends on his motorbike to our place in Grimbergen, and stayed one night.

Great guy to have around, i was impressed by his language skills and his relaxed attitude, which didn't prevent him from getting his points across. He's fun, friendly and trustworthy. I hope you'll have the chance to meet him. I certainly will.It was nice meeting Hannu again. He's a respectful guest and a warm person (yes, he is finnish!). My family and I had a great BeWelcome experience at Hampa's place, but unfortunately we didn't get to meet her.

Hampa was so kind to help us out, and thanks to her, her flatmates and her cats, our daughter had her first real BW experience...and it was great.
I hope we can still meet up one day, Hampa!

We met in Greifswald, Germany in May 2009

MarkusL offered to host our little family, but since we had already found another host, we decided just to meet up for an ice-cream and a walk through town.

We had a nice time with MarkusL, and he seems a friendly and helpful person. He just needs to practice drinking water without touching the glass if he plans on going to India :)

We met at the Monday Movie meetings he used to organize in Brussels.

Frank introduced me to the HC/BW world. He has a great HC / BW spirit and he's the great person who started with the monday movie meetings. Thanks to these meetings, CS/HC/BW people regulary meet in Brussels. He likes meeting people and he's a very interesting person. He knows how to organize meetings and parties and he knows almost everybody. I really hope, he's coming back to Brussels! We miss you, Frank!

Oreleke stayed at our place in Aachen twice, once with a friend.
we had a great time, together with jerual we went to do some urban exploration.
Another time we went to Photokina while she went with her friend to visit Cologne.

If you are looking for a book contact him he probably has it lol. He's a funny person, can have entertaining conversations, and knows what he wants.

Aachen - Birthday party
In Aachen: it was super to stay over at Frank and Claudia's stay :) The food was great, the place cosy, the information interesting. I could go on and on but best is to experience it for yourself ;-) They are splendid hosts!

Birthday party: The owner of the jazzbar were the party took place mentioned Frank at the end, saying what a friendly helpful man. I think it says more than I could when someone notices this in a group of people in a brief moment.

We met in Coimbatore in 2006 when travelling through South India

Vishnu was the perfect host and a very friendly person. Unfortunately we could only stay one day with him, but he make us feel like part of the family, and showed us truly unforgettable sites, including a traditional Indian wedding with lots of food, sweets, drinks and happy people. We still have the wedding invititation (with a piece of candy attached) and the memory is very special to me and claudia.

Thank you Vishnu for your hospitality, and for helping us getting to the train on time.

A couple of years ago fenixlakshmi stayed at my place in Grimbergen, Belgium.

We met so many times: in Brussels, in Bonn, in Freiburg, at my place, at her place, on the road...

Avocado is linked to some of my best experiences in hospitality exchange. I can talk to her about anything, we share so much and our paths seem to cross many many times. She is trustworthy, somebody who starts many new projects (whether she finishes all of them is something you should ask her personally), very active, always interested in learning new things and sharing what she knows. thanks for the wonderful food you cook, the great thai massages, introducing me to Lee Hazelwood and Der Räuber Hotzenplotz, Karnaval in Bonn and much much more.

We met at the SHE (sustainable Hospitality Exchange) meeting in Amsterdam, June 2008

i'm so glad Petter joined the meeting because he had some very down-to-earth remarks and opinions that brought a fresh and different approach to the sometimes very philosophical debates. We met at the Linuxhotel where we held the Second BeVolunteer General Assembly

Ingo is an amazing guy. Very open, interested in new experiences and above all a relaxed and down-to-earth guy who wants to help out wherever he can. He contacted BeVolunteer to help organize our General Assembly at the Linuxhotel in Essen, and it was a major factor for the success.
I hope we will meet again and work together some more, because I appreciate him both for his friendliness as for his positive attitude. Very trustworthy

We met so many times I can't remember when and where. Definitely at my place, at the 1st General Assembly of Bevolunteer, in Estonia, at the Berlin Beach Camp...

I had heard Sibelius' name before and when we finally met in Berlin it was like I knew him already a bit. It's true we didn't talk a lot, but now that I moved to Aachen i'm already one step closer to Berlin :)

Just check his profile: it's one of the most remarkable ones I've read in a long time. Full of great ideals and big commitments. A person who wants to make a change. And together we can accomplish those changes necessary to save our planet. Friendship, respect for nature, openness.... I'm glad to have him as a member of our little community.

Jilrev and his son came to stay with us for a night, and we went to a very noisy restaurant where we had some time to talk (or shout hehe)

Jilrev is the example of a true hospitality exchange member. He is interesting, open, a travel addict and a kind person. Always interested in the world around him and willing to help. He is also involved in exciting projects (servas, open street maps and travels around with his van).
Definitely a person you should try to meet, and I'm sure we'll meet again, hopefully this summer.

I met Frank thru HC in Grimbergen, Belgium.

I stayed at his house in the lovely town of Grimbergen. He is a die-hard club member, inspirational leader, great host, great guide with good taste. He introduced me to Grimbergen beer. I very much appreciate his friendship (He is very special as we have the same birthdays). Definitely you should consider contacting him if you are going to Belgium !

We met in Brussels and at the BBC camp in 2005 and later also in Freiburg and at the 1st BW volunteer meeting

Dante is a fulltime traveller, a multilingual nomad who looks very happy with his life. Very interested in nomadology and how communities work. we met first at the Kommz in Aschaffenburg, and later in Frankfurt and again in Aschaffenburg

She is such a wonderful person, from the moment I saw her I knew I'd like her. She is spontaneous, courageous, creative and above all I think she is a highly trustworthy person. Once you are friends with her I think it will be for the rest of your life.

It was great to get an inside in BW and meet all the persons behind this project in the (un)conference in Antwerp.

Even though Frank is very much involved in BW and BeVolunteer, he doesn't show it too much. He is a really good observer and perceives every action and every person. He tries to listen, also to the more "quite" opinions. So I'm waiting for him to show up in Berlin, as he said in his comment to me.

We met at the 1st BeWelcome Conference in Antwerp (2008)

Wind seems to be a quiet, relaxed kind of guy, who is a good observer and only speaks when he has something interesting to say. We did talk a bit, and I appreciated his contributions in the workshops he attended.
Looking forward to meeting him again in Berlin one day.

We first met in Brussels in 2004

Irmz is an amazing person, and i'm sure i'm not the first one to say that. We met a couple of times at various meetings, and I had a great time showing her around Brussels (remember the trampoline !).

We first met at the HC Spring Camp in Holland. Later we met again and again, in Brussels, in Düsseldorf, in Berlin and many other places

Chris is my brother-in-arms ! He tought me a thing or two about my camera, and is always interested in what is going on around him. I really enjoy meeting him, and I'm sure we'll meet up pretty soon again, since Aachen is not so far from his place.
And he's got a Wii and a girlfriend who is not afraid of using it :)

We first met at Kenza888's dinner in Nijmegen, went to a party and met up again at an HC meeting in Brussels. He stayed for a couple of hours in my guestroom, so that merits the "guest" tick :)
Later we have been meeting on several occassions.

Jojo is quite an active person. Dancing, talking, or just checking out the situation : he is the guy you go to if you are bored. He'll liven up any party and he knows his languages. See you around...Mons is not far from Bxl.

We met at the 1st (un)conference at Antwerp

Frank surprised me by his way to welcome everyone by finding the right words and his willingness and ability to listen before making his mind. So hopefully learning from eachother was one of the results of the (un)conference. I'd like to spend some more time with him. We met at the BeWelcome (un)conference in Antwerp

When I first heard about him and read his forum posts about privacy, i thought of that great saying : "it is not because you are paranoid, that they are NOT out there trying to get you".

And then I met Midsch in Antwerp, and it turned out he is just a friendly guy who wants to make sure nobody is abusing their power. I respect him for that and he convinced me that several key issues should be addressed in a different way. I hope he'll be around for a long time so we can work on that together.

We first met in Heidelberg for the BV meeting 2006, then again at the GA 2007 in Brussels, then he and Claudia stayed at my place for a night. He drove across half of Germany to celebrate my birthday party. Now we met again at the BW unconference in Antwerp where he picked me up in Brussels to get there.

What can I add to the things already said about him? He is a gem of a person! I'm sure we meet again ... and again .... and again....

At the BeVolunteer meeting in Heidelberg

Although I had known Anja from the forum, we only met in real life for the first time in Heidelberg. She is a smart woman, a welcome addition to any debate (diplomatic yet resolved) and fun to be around. I'm sure we'll meet again many times.

In HC when Frank was a forum moderator we had some technical contacts.
We then met in Brussel and in Heidelberg (and will meet again).

We met twice at HC volunteers meetings : once in Brussels, a second time in Heidelberg

Without JY there would probably be no BeWelcome and definitely no HC or at least not the HC as we know it. He spends so much time on the website that you can only thank him again and again. He's a warm person, likes good food and good company, and knows a lot of funny stories (just ask him about what happens when two French programmers try to translate the HC website)... He was a very hospitable host, made us vegetarian food and shared his room with us.

We met in Düsseldorf and in Antwerp

I met Dorkau through Daydreamer1969 and liked her immediately. If Daydreamer trusts her, how can anyone else not trust her, right ? :)
She is friendly, kind, happy with her life and a great mom to her little daughter. Together they spread joy and warmth wherever they come.

I stayed at Daniel's place for two days with claudiaab.

Daniel was very helpful, picking us up with his jeep and then finding perfect accommodation for us at his flat/office. We had a very interesting chat and he gave us a better insight in Indian culture, politics and social issues. Be sure to check his website, it has some interesting features about the present situation in India. Thanks Daniel for the food, the bed and the info you shared with us. Hope to meet you again

I have met Euritmix countless times in Brussels and at a friend's place.

I introduced Eurtimix to the idea of Hospitality Exchange, and I find him most trustworthy.

He is interesting and interested, we talked about history and politics. If you want to learn how to juggle, he's your man. Calm, reserved yet wise and funny...i'm sure you'll also find him trustworthy.

To put it differently: if I were stranded on a deserted island, he would make great company.

We first exchanged some emails, and then met in a restaurant in Brusels with some other friends

Fabienne is a friendly person who likes to discover new things and experience cultural exchange. I immediately felt comfortable around her and she makes interesting conversation.

I just discoverd I never wrote a comment about Tadeusz (neither did his wife LOL)...so here I am to correct that mistake. Tadeusz contacted me before he came to Brussels and we have been meeting ever since, almost once a week :)

Tadeusz is a great person, always helpful, always friendly. He likes to make jokes and doesn't take himself too seriously, and he is interesting to talk to and to listen to. I'm counting on him to keep the Hospitality Exchange scene alive when I leave Brussels...a huge responsability, man!

i met kristalli several times in Brussels

She is a wonderful person, cycling through brussels on her red bike, coming to all the Movie Mondays (except when it's a horror movie), she is generous and funny, and it's always nice to see her. I hope we'll meet again and again and again :)

We first met at an hospitality exchange camp in Den Haag (where we didn't talk a lot) and then we travelled together to the Berlin Camp. We have been meeting each other from time to time in Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent.

Zazablack is a very nice person, considered, trustworhty and great company. She is actively involved in Ecological, political and animal rights movements. I wish there were more people like her. Good luck wherever your path takes you, I hope to meet you out there again.

we met first at kasper's place in Paris, then travelled to Lyon together. We have met several times since then, both at my place and in Finland

Katasza first contacted me when writing an article about Hospitality Exchange for a Polish magazine. We met later in real life at a boardgame evening organized by Kenza888 and she also came to my birthday party.

Buddy_jz came to my birthday party.

He is a very generous person, who captivated a whole crowd of Italian partypeople with his discussions about cultural differences :)
We didn't have the chance to talk a lot (i had to divide my attention to 70 other people) but i'm sure we'll meet again soon for some quality time hehe.

We first met at Shevek's place, and Fmar and his girlfriend invited me and claudiaab to visit them a week later.

I felt immediately at ease with Fmar after meeting him. He is open, friendly, interesting and makes good conversation. He cooked for us and gave us lots of useful info about social networking. And now he is helping with BeWelcome. Trustworthy and worth the detour :)

Franco is a cool guy to be around. He is relaxed, has good taste in beer and movies, and is interesting to talk to. We have met several times now but there are still many topics to talk about. I hope we'll have plenty of opportunities to do that.

Asia80 is a very friendly and interesting member who offered to work on the Polish translations of this website.

I stayed one night at his place during my England-Trip ( Brussel was one stop, before i got to england )

He picked me up near a cathedral, showed me little bit around the town.
Afterwards we went to the cinema watching the Simpsons Movie.
I was very impressed how many languages he can speak.
He is also a photographer. I haven't seen his pictures, but the fact that he build a reflector for portrait photos and that he booked a model are enough for me to say that he must be damn good.
He is a good communication partner and i think he is one of the person who find friends very quickly.

From his laptop i signed on to bewelcome. I missed the 1000s member very close. Damn!!!

There is a lot of good things to tell about him : about his languages skills, welcome smile... and, even if he had explained a lot of things during the stroll in the city, he have a lot more to tell ! But don't believe he's a talk-talk-talk man, he also listen carefully to everybody.
To conclude, it's, to me, people like that who makes this website with a good "spirit"

We met in Brussels during a guided tour I organized

Alban is a quiet, friendly and respectful guy. Interesting to listen to and above all interested in what others have to say. He's also helping out on this website, so we are all thankful for that.
We didn't get the time to talk a lot (so many people showed up) but Paris is only 1 hour and 20 minutes away so I'm sure we'll meet up again soon.

We worked together on different Hospitality Exchange networks and finally met in Brussels

Fake51 is so real that his name doesn't do him justice. He is a guy with his heart in the right place, who knows what he wants and who is very dedicated. It was great to finally meet him, even though we didn't have the time to really talk a lot. But since his girlfriend is a good friend of mine, I have now another excuse to meet up with him again :)

We met on several occassions (Berlin, Nijmegen) and I finally had the pleasure of staying at his place in Düsseldorf

Stefan is one of the most relaxed hosts I ever met (but maybe that's because he was tired from climbing all the hills in Süd Tirol !).
It was nice of him to host me after just arriving back from holiday himself, and he makes good conversation. An extra bonus is that you'll never sleep alone at night, as Stefan's cat will keep you company. Thanks Stefan, and looking forward to hosting you and Dorkau anytime in Brussels.

I met Frank once during a Virtualtourist meeting when Kinga Freespirit (may she travel in heaven) was visiting Antwerp and once on a very nice sunny afternoon on a Ghent meeting, my really first bigger HC meeting.

Frank is very amicable. I was wondering what that was about that hand massage but he demonstrated it during the HC meeting in Gent to some of the attendees.
He is a very enjoyable person and I think a meeting without him is not really complete.
Hope to meet up in May(be) in Brussels :)

Spent an afternoon in their home in Aachen, and later went to see an Iran-Iraq-Kurdistan movie.

Both Claudia and Frank are sympathic people and we had a nice afternoon. Frank seems to know a lot about Belgian beer - or maybe it's just normal for someone from Brussels. The movie was great, and actually I think I wouldn't have seen it if they had not asked me. Let's see what we can do the next time..

Lemon-head (still don't know where he got the name from) was the first BeWelcome member we met in Aachen, and it was a pleasant meeting. He brought some Belgian beer (so thoughtful of him) and we talked about many interesting things. He seems a very spontaneous, friendly and caring member and I'm sure we'll meet many more times in the future. Oh, and from looking at his list of favourite movies, I think he has a great taste :)

We first met in Vilnius, then Mintaute hitchhiked to Belgium just to celebrate New Year with me. We then visited her in Dublin. I can't wait for the next chapter in our story

Mintaute is a very kind person. She has made me laugh and we cried together, she touched my heart with her kindness and has lots of stories to tell. You will never get bored with her. Meeting Alpiniste3 was a great experience, as she lived together with other teachers in one flat. I enjoyed my sta a lot, visiting an old bunker complex and going to a photography exhibition. She is trustworthy and a very good host. hope to meet her again one day

We met so many times. Groningen, Den Haag, Brussels, Bruges... She was my guest and my host.

We met through a mutual friend of ours, Kinga. Asia first hosted me in Groningen, where she and her friend made me feel at home, prepared wonderful shrimp salad and introduced me to their Polish friends. Asia is really trustworthy and there is always an interesting conversation going on when she is around. She stayed at my place as well together with Kinga and we had a great time in Bruges. And now she is moving to Brussels when I'm moving to Germany...life is not fair sometimes.

She stayed one day at my place and we met a day later at the Antwerp Brunch. Later we met again in Brussels and in Chennai (India)

My first Italian guest, and I was her first HC host...so a perfect combination. We had a great time, she brought a Venetian speciality (chiachierre)and we ate some turkish specialities and had a nice walk after midnight around Grimbergen. A nice personality, eager to learn and fun to be around. Later we met in India and again in Brussels. Definitely trustworthy.

Essely is enthusiastic, fun and a good debater. First I got to know Frank from my volunteering in HC and I am happy to work with him for BW and even to be hosted in the cosy flat of this master of hospitality :)

Frank is a real master of hospitality, it is not an exaggeration - I guess the hospitality exchange community in Brussels is so great and vivid also thanks to his efforts. Frank is a great photographer (this is written with a secret hope to be on such a photo some day :) and I hope to meet Frank again and to learn new things from him

She is a very kind, smiling person whose presence will make any room brighter. Brussels meetings in March and May

he was one of the first people i talked to at my first brussels meeting in March. we met again at the party in May and it just confirmed my good feelings about him. we talked and laughed a lot and it was like meeting a good, old friend again. i think you can only feel good with him - an open-minded, easy-going, funny, very nice, interested and interesting,... person. i look forward to meeting you again!

We first met at a meeting organised by Maplefanta, and then at the now famous Hospitality Exchange party in May 2007. The party that will have changed forever the narrow-minded mentality of thinking in little boxes :)

Extremely positive ! from the first moment it was clear that Achso would be someone I could get along with easily. And yesterday I realised it is not because of me, but because of her! She is so comfortable around people and everybody seems to like her. Lucky girl!

We first met in Berlin at the Beach Camp, and then she visited me and we have been running into each other quite often. Now she is far away in Estonia...

Hospitality Exchnage meeting in Bruxelles/ Brussel in May 2007 and the day after at gregoire\'s flat

I had already heart so much about Frank from my flatmate maplefanta that I was really happy when I finally met him at the meeting he organized in Brussels. First of all, a big thank you for this Hospitality Exchange meeting, trying to build up links and bridges - this is the real hospitality spirit!!!
Unfortunately that evening Frank was a little bit busy behind the counter (nevertheless he had always time for little chats and a warm smile and welcome for everybody) but luckily we met again the next day at gregoire\'s flat. It was nice to talk to Frank. He is very restful to be with and a very enjoyable person.

i think it must be apr. 1,5 year now that i know frank. had him on the phone, had him in my house, met him at some parties, ... where have i been, not having writen a comment on frank yet ...

frank is the open guy you wish to meet. frank is the organiser you wish to know.
frank is the person you wish to have around.
not knowing frank, is a pitty, but it leaves the advantage that there is still another chance to get to know a fabulous guy out there !

We met a couple of times in Brussels and will keep doing that until one of us moves :)

Very warm, interesting person, the mother of all Hospitality Exchange Networks :)\r\nShe is very open, friendly and doesn\'t make a fuss about boring little details. If you like good food, good music and good times, Schaarbeek is the place to be, and Floki is the Mayor there :)

I met Thorgal several times in HC, CS and BeWelcome meetings. Everytime we would like to discuss a bit more... but we never find the time. I hope to meet him again and find time to talk longer with him !

We had first contact by mail (kind invitation for a social gathering) and then we met in Ghent and Brussels.

It\'s is strange that we never seemed to have the time to talk a lot, since we always meet when there is a party going on or a guided walking tour...but that will soon change. Once BeWelcome exits the Bèta phase I will make the time to sit down with Olivier and his wife, enjoy a pastis with a nice spaghetti bolo and talk about life, hospitality exchange and the hidden treasures of Brussels :)
Oh, and on a less personal level : all the feedback i get from guests at Olivier\'s say that he is a remarkable host. Don\'t take my word for it, try it for yourself.

We met many, many times by now. First it was den Haag, Monnai, his place and quiet a few others.

Frank is a great teacher of French and massage, interested in everything around him and always ready to try something new. I enjoy talking with him even if he usually don\'t have time for it :). He is a good friend of mine and I am sure it will stay this way. And his Polish is impressive!

We chatted first through Gadu Gadu and then met in real life at the Spring Camp in Den Haag. After that our lives crossed several times and even though we only meet once or twice a year, I still consider her a close friend.

The Maria I know through chatting is really the same Maria as the one I met in Holland ! She is honest, kind, full of life and (almost) always smiling !
A trustworthy person, an honest girl, beautiful, smart AND witty.

We met a couple of times (Germany, Poland) but the best memories are the time I spent at her place in Poznan.

A very friendly person, always ready to help. She showed me around Poznan, visiting Art exhibitions, Soviet-style cafes and old breweries. It was nice meeting her sisters and participating in \'normal\' family life :)

we met at a meeting at my place in Grimbergen, and have been meeting around Brussels quite a few times with mutual friends.

He says he\'s a simple man and that is probably true. Happy with little but still with plenty of travel experience. But maybe there is more than meets the eye...meet him to find out.

We contacted each other through mail, phone, forum...and finally we met up in lovely Tartu

At first it looked like destiny didn\'t want us to meet. Now that I met them, I cannot imagine why we kept being in the wrong place all the time, because Tomi and Vera are wonderful people and I am really sorry for not being able to travel with them to Pärnu. I am sure we would have had a great time there. I\'d love to meet them again, and i\'m sure we will in the near future. Thanks for the invitation, you are always welcome at my place to. Ochen Prityatno Vera, Mukava tavata sinut, Tomi.
Oh, and Tomi is my partner in crime when it comes to travelling to Molvania :)

We met some many times...i could write pages. She designed my website, she introduced me into the wicked world of Blogging, she uses me as a guinea pig for her wonderful cooking, we keep eachother on their toes and explore the riches of movies, human relationships and food.

Topanga is a strong woman who knows what she wants and who will always tell you (diplomatically) her opinion. I have seldom met somebody so in touch with herself and honest. Totally trustworthy and great fun if you like to discuss (food, movies, psychology are all excellent topics). If you get tired of Topanga, you get tired of life hehe.

I enjoyed talking to Frank a lot concerning both the bewelcome and other hospitality exchange projects, and other various subjects. The impression I got was that of a cheerful guy, who is extremely motivated for the bw-cause.

Gerbennap immediately made a good impression on me, driving down from the Netherlands just to attend our little party. He is cool, interesting AND interested, likes hitchhiking and is also active here, having translated half of the site into Dutch). I\'m sure we\'ll meet up many times in the future

wooow, first time was in December 2005, i guess..and now, quite often in meetings and parties in Brussels....

some time ago mostly in one forum (that time i called him the \"great editor\"), but now more and more in real life and via mail...

...by now i call him the \"golden guy\". golden heart, golden spirit, golden smile, golden humour, golden mind and last but not least pretty golden hands (golden massage skillz what i heared and golden photographer skillz what i know!). in a nutshell, meeting this guy is like the 1st price - getting the golden medal ;-)

We keep on meeting, in Holland, Brussels, Freiburg, Düsseldorf.

He is the driving force behind the HCPF, a guy who drives a car with a fluxcompensator, a Klaus Kinsi fan (not a look-alike), a Soerensen-fetishist and above all a great guy who wears the tag \"party-animal\" with pride :). He knows what to do on a Wednesday night in Düsseldorf and I can assure you it involves Jägermeister and vodka red bull..\r\nIf you go to Germany and you don\'t meet him, you\'ll regret it. Trust me. Trust him.

we have occasionally met at some hc parties and chatted quite a lot online while volunteering for bw/hc

that\'s when i really hate writing \'we didn\'t talk much...\' i really would have liked to! though there was too little time or too many people and chaos around... but at least i managed to get a nice hand massage from him ;) hopefully the meeting when we will finally talk a bit more \'offline\' is coming soon...

We stayed at his place in Changanacherry and were made feel very welcome by his friends and family

Philip gave us the best hospitality we could have wished for. He picked us up at the station, showed us around, arranged for special visits to a bell tower and the library where his friends work. His parents treated us like members of the family and we visited together with him one of the highlights of our trip : the backwaters around Alleppey. Thanks Philip for making these two days unforgettable. I hope you like our belgium/german music by now :)

Having heard about her so many times, i was happy to meet her in Holland for the first time. A talkative, friendly, funny girl, who liked posing for my camera and filled the room with good vibrations.
Claudiaab and I met her again in Brussels where we went to a macrobiotic place for tea and cake. A trustworthy person with a great personality. Let\'s meet again soon.

We met first in Aschaffenburg, and she later stayed at my place with two of her children

Zsuzsi is such a nice person, always smiling, never losing her patience and a real traveller who can decide where to go next without hesitation. A warm personality, funny stories and flexible, what more can anyone hope to find in a guest?
Her children were also very friendly and inquisitive, and they will always remember me as the \"Eierfrau\" :)

Stoemp came to the party as the only CS member, and it was great to meet him. He is openminded, loves to meet people and seemed very friendly.

Joeri is the human beatbox and a very active (dare I say \'hyperactive) addition (or addiction) to the Hospitaly Exchange Networks. He\'ll liven up the place, whether you like it or not! \r\nBut when he calms down he will show his tender, philosophical side. That is something to experience.

do you know how it is to meet somebody for the first time and you immediately sense that this is somebody who will bring meaning to your life? Well, that\'s how I felt when I met Jerual. She is wonderful, witty, a thinker, a planner. Someone who looks on a map and says :\"mmh, that doesn\'t look far...let\'s go !\". Somebody with lots of ideas and lots of plans. Also somebody who has had her share of bad luck, but who doesn\'t give up. She can use some good luck, so why don\'t you meet up with her and make her smile. Because her smile is genuine and will melt any heart :)

I met meenzer first time at his birthday party. He was wearing a crown :)

Finally we met, after hearing so much about him. He truly behaved like a king in the positive sense of the word (so not oppressing the poor or exploiting their land) : a kind, interesting guy with a great sense of humour and always relaxed. We had a good conversation (but maybe he doesn\'t remember because this Grolsch beer was readily available). \r\nLet\'s meet again soon !

I stayed at her place in Klaipeda, and later I met her again in Vilnius

Audra is a warm, open-minded person who immediately made me feel at home. She even let me sleep in her bed while she slept in the kitchen! I liked her spontaneous character, and the fact that we were living on the same wavelength. I am extremely happy to count her among my best memories.

I met Citizenoftheworld professionally, and later we met on several occasions. Unfortunately I live much too close to make use of her hospitality, but she did cook for me :)

We met so many times, i probably can\'t even remember them all. She stayed at my place, i stayed at her place in Nijmegen twice, we have met at many meetings, parties, get-togethers...

She\'s a fun girl with a good sense of humour and she doesn\'t take herself too seriously. I must say that she has changed a bit since I first met her. I guess she still likes to party, but she has learned when to take responabilities too. You\'ll have a great time with this open-minded, multicultural and fascinating girl.

Frank has been one of those member who introduced me into the hospitality world while I was living in Belgium, We hanged together pretty often back then. Met in Belgium and other meetings all over Europe way more times than the amount of twins fingers and toes!

Frank has nearly become a second family for me, one to share discussion and advice about everything. A deep idealist, I followed him into volunteering and never regreted it! For me, a true friends, deeply trustworthy and he was always there when I was in need. Someone to meet, to trust and to be photographed by!

Funny guy, this Patrick. Don't know if is humour is Canadian but it's sure catchy. Interesting guy to talk to, very relaxed and he doesn't force his opinions on you, that's always nice when meeting people for the first time. I think he is a trustworthy person. Oh, he gave me a mission in life by the way : to try and take a picture of him looking normal ! He is becoming more and more involved in BeWelcome and BeVolunteer, so I'm sure we'll keep in touch a lot.

Mart was supposed to be me guest in December 2004, but the party was much more fun so he decided to stay in Brussels. After that we met on several occassions and finally he decided to settle for a while in Brussels.

Martin is great fun, full of energy, a camera-crazy person like me. Not a dull moment with him and totally trustworthy ! Try to be there when he throws a killing party...he will make you walk through imaginary doors.

We met at the Volunteer meeting in Brussel

Antonello is a very active guy with a great sense of humour and a natural talent for languages. He's the only Italian I know who speaks French with a Parisian accent ! He wants to learn so much he will ask you more questions than you can answer ! I trusted him for the first moment.

Several times in real life, very often online

A master photographer, dedicated volunteer and down to earth personality. Frank is a teacher in many ways. In his pictures people discover how beautiful they can be, his volunteer work and engagement ist simply outstanding and once you meet him in real life you start to enjoy every minute. Live is too short not realise and learn from outstanding persons. I learned a lot from Frank and am looking forward to much more. More exchange of ideas, work, experience and humour. We met on a very warm day in Hasselt

We've met a couple of times during HC-meetings.

Thorgal67 is a very nice and interesting man who is breathing the real hospitality-spirit.

Meet him and you wiil see that his enthousiasm can be contagious!

We met on a one-time occasion (party/meetup/etc.)

Great people, very friendly and very active...probably because they have such active kids and stay young at heart. Meet them, you won't regret it

We met so many times, first in Belgium, later in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Freiburg and many other places

He's a great guy, some people even think he is my son, which is pretty awesome considering the fact that he could be my brother :)

We met in Germany and later she stayed at my place

a great person, what else can I say? It's always nice to meet her and hang out. She's friendly and you'll feel very comfortable around her

we met in heidelberg, then travelled together to Spain and have since been meeting up every few weeks

What can I say ? I hope we never get divorced because then I have to change this comment :)
