This is a weekly meeting I have only been publishing on Couchsurfing so far but after a few years of inactivity it's time to get a little bit more involved here again.
There are about 600 of them, but no one has ever counted them: Berlin's pubs offer more than beer and cigarette clouds. They are spaces with history and full of stories. But for how long? Who is there today? Finally, why? Drinking holes, boozers, taverns, saloons, bars, inns, public houses: every house has its name and its peculiarities –
some of them obvious, others hidden.
Inspired by a blog of fellow Couchsurfer Natalia Irina Roman and her friend Roland Siegloff we have started this weekly Tuesday Couchsurfing meeting to explore places and pubs most of you have never seen in their life before.

"Gaststätte im Zentrum"
Small Pilsner (0,3 l): 1,80 Euro.
When people think of Charlottenburg most of them actually think about Kurfürstendamm, Savignyplatz and the Charlottenburg Palace. Fancy bars, posh costomers, high prices.
However, Charlottenburg-Nord is the opposite of this.
Situated inbetween Berlin's city motorway and Jungefernheide park, Charlottenburg-Nord is a typical example of West-German 50's post war architecture. Block buildings all around!
Nevertheless even in such deserts of architecture you can find places that are actually enjoyable! ...at least if you compare them with the places around!
The "Gaststätte im Zentrum" is such an oasis. Would this restaurant be on the corner of a block you could even call it a corner pub.
...but "Gaststätte im Zentrum" is so much more than a pub!
A restaurant with classical German cuisine, a beer garden and a casino (thanks to the two slot machines!).
You might think that this doesn't sound tempting? You are right, it doesn't sound tempting at all!!!
...but isn't that a reason for a lot of Tuesday meeting locations in the past???
To make it an surprise for the barkeepers and locals we won't be telling anybody in the bar that we will be coming! - As usual!
