We are happy and excited to introduce the Balkan Ecology Project (BalkEP), a grassroots environmental project inspired by permaculture and based in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria). We are devoted to the design and exploration of ecologically-sound human habitats. Through experiment and action we hope to serve as a demonstration site for local residents, communities and visitors from abroad. Our projects aim to develop thoughtful approaches to food, shelter, community and commerce. Our first project is focused on the development of a forest garden and an adjoining nursery.
