Romesummercamp, Pescosido, Abruzzi National Park 2009, 4° edition.Less than two hours from Rome, well-connected by bus, trains and highway. The event has become an institution. It is now our 4° edition. Every year more and more people come and we keep on improving it. As usual the gathering is completely free. There is no fee to be paid to participate or for the activities: yoga, hiking, live music, horse event and much more. It is a five-night event. To get a better idea of the place, have a look at this website: http://romesummercamp.ilbello.com/If you go to pictures 2008 you can have a look at photos of the farm, showers, toilets, wood-burning oven, meadow etc. Food: at the farm we have a wood-burning stove, a wood-burning oven and barbecue area. There is plenty of firewood around. You can bring your own food or buy it at the grocery store close by. This area of Italy is very cheap. The food can be bought all together as it happened in the last edition. Last year we also made delicious bread and cooked amazing food in the wood-burning oven. What to bring: You will definitely need a sleeping bag a flash light. For the tent, you can also arrange to share it with other participants. This was the case in the past years. Also last year several people did not use tents at all. They slept on the meadow, on hammocks on the terrace. In the summer it is warm even at night. The stars will be your roof, what else do you need ! Facilities: We built very beautiful bamboo shack showers. The water is still not heated but it gets quite warm in the summer. But who needs hot shower in the summer anyway.We have latrines and compost toilets. We do not have electricity. But we have a generator in case we need some electricity for a short time.We have well water for the shower and very good tap water from the mountains for drinking.Wood-burning oven, wood-burning stove, barbecue area and plenty of firewood are also at our disposal. Why the summercamp in PescosolidoThe gather in this beautiful non-touristy area of the Abruzzi National Park has reached his 4° edition.The event is to celebrate the beauty of live and nature and meet lots of people from all over the world. Collaborating for its success. The success of the camp depends completely on you and we all work to achieve it. Everybody will contribute to its dynamics. If there are things to do, we will arrange groups. We will make sure the area is kept clear. If we need to collect firewood we will do it together. We will cook together we will go shopping together. We will always help each other . We will laugh together, sing together, dance together, look at the stars together. This is what the summecamp is about. Activities/events : Yoga, hiking to the castle in Sora. Hiking to the waterfall in the Abruzzi National Park. There is also the possibility to arrange an overnight hike on top of the mountain at 2000 metres. It is so beautiful up there that you will not be able to manage the wonderful feelings that will feel the need to cry. If there is a group that wants to go, we will provide information about the trail. There is a free hut that everyone can use up in the mountain. From abroad: +393402517941 TO GET TO PESCOSOLIDO YOU WILL NEED TO GET TO SORA FIRST. FROM SORA TO PESCOSOLIDO IS A 10-15 MINUTE BUS RIDE. SORA IS VERY WELL-CONNECTED BY BUSES AND TRAINS WITH ROME AND NAPLES (BETTER WITH ROME THOUGH). THE TRIP IS AROUND TWO HOURS FROM BOTH CITIES. FROM ROME THERE IS A BUS EVERY HOUR (5,50 Euros), EVERYDAY INCLUDING SUNDAY AND HOLIDAYS. TRAINS ARE ALSO AVALIABLE FROM ROME OR NAPLES. Just click “where we are” (note that this website has nothing to do with the summer camp but you can use it for the bus and train information) Last year everyone reached the meadow from Sora very easily. Please be sure to print these instructions and bring them with you, as you will not find it without them. Organic farm, Le Mogli, Pescosolido, Wednesday and Thursday: The farm is on the way to Pescosolido from Sora. You can either take the bus or drive. Bus information By car: There are two ways to get the Pescosolido, be sure to take la strada veccia, the old road, not the route through Forcella The information about the bus is listed below. There will be a sign on the left-hand side, going up. After you have been driving for a while uphill for a couple of kilometers after the second big turn you will see the sign on the left that says LE MOGLI, pay attention. You will then need to drive on a gravel road for 700 metres. Keep on driving on the gravel road, on the right there will be a cement road, ignore it stick on the gravel road. There will be an open gate that is red and white. You go to the farm !
