Hello everyone and be welcome members. My name is Kevin and I have just come back from a 2 month trip to China. I am interested in learning and taking classes Mandarin Chinese and would like to live and work in Shanghai. I am a fluent speaker of Nederlands (Dutch) of Holland and I know Chinese people besides English, French, Spanish and German are now learning "minor languages" such as DUTCH for the "competitive market" of China and Chinese people in general. So my WORK or JOB there would be teaching and helping Chinese students and people about my languages, I can of course also teach ENGLISH since I am FLUENT as well in this language (the AMERICAN version that is). At the same time I would like to take an official recognized CHINESE course and HSK levels recognized certificate and diploma.

So I am looking for a host in the beginning and also housing, I guess a western compound style apartment. Maybe someone has an extra small room for rent, preferabbly with AC and also high speed internet connection.

I know these are wil plans but Mandarin Chinese is an up and coming language and this is the reason I want to learn it, I already have plenty of books and cd roms familiarzing me with the language and I want to give something back as well in teaching my language DUTCH to them (the Chinese) or any one else wanting to learn it.

I have visited the DUTCH consulate in Shanghai and non of the employees (all chinese) there spoke a word of Dutch so maybe I can teach them Dutch and have some income as well.

so my motto is LEARN (Chinese) TEACH (Dutch) and WORK( a guy has to make a living, pay rent . food and so on).

I hope you all are reading this can help me out with this. I am thinking about MARCH 2009..Spring Time and to stay for 1 year.
