The hitchwiki page says: It's very dangerous to hitchhike in Reunion cause the guys there are very frustrated and can rape you. There is a lot of criminals in the mountains also.
I have quite a bit of spotless hitchlog there, but I'm from there. I'm wondering if, it being an island, and french too, whether the people there would be more hostile to foreigners.
