Hello everyone! Hope everyone is well!

As you will see from my profile, i am travelling to India beginning in February, and would love to meet people from the bewelcome site. The thing is I am travelling with 2 others, and i notice that most hosts can only take 2 in....is there anyone out there on the west coast of India who wouldnt mind having three lovely people to stay? Thanks all!

Carmen

Its nice to read some Indian interest in this section. Carmen, is your trip still awaited or is it over? Keep me posted.

I live in New Delhi and have room when I'm in town. I travel quite a bit myself, so PLEASE write to me at least 2 weeks in advance if possible. I particularly invite the uninitiated to India: I know how it feels landing up in a vibrant city like New Delhi all by yourself in the middle of the night and having no choice but to end up in a flea hole in the tourist ghetto. What I aim to do is to offer you a soft landing before you shoot off on your adventures.

 love and peace

Hello people!!

I know it may be a bit too early but since I seldom visit this site and I am guessing most members don't log that frequent too, I am going let you guys know what I have in mind and see if any of you people could help me on my plans... :) Well, my girlfriend and I are planning to visit India next May... although it is going to be only a two-week backpacking trip, the tentative plan covers quite a few place...

Since AirAsia started catering flights from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Tiruchirapalli, India, we are trying to take that opportunity to travel there for our next trip. After Trichy (a shorter name for that city), we hope to visit Madurai, both of which are in Tamil Nadu and then Munnar and Kochi in Kerala, fly to Goa afterwards, then Dehli cum Agra before flying back to Trichy to take the last flight home... Can anyone from any of the cities mentioned above help us out by any advices or suggestions?? Ability to meet up would be very much appreciated!! Yet again, yes, now might be a tad too early to reply to anything of such...

Anyway, I am both a CS and HC member by the nick of Darren and dknypg83 respectively, that is if I am not mistaken, from Penang, Malaysia. I am very new to this website, so please bear with me if there is any mistakes made here... Thanks a lot in advance for your time and considerations...

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Darren,

I think i have already replied to your message in HC.If not ,you can note these suggestions.

May would be the hottest month in most parts of India. If possible try to advance your visit to Feb or later sometime in July.

How many days do you intend to spend in India?

You may spend 2days in Tiruchy by visiting famous Ranganatha Temple and Mukkombu a nice park beside the rivers and which is about 10kms form Tiruchy. You can also make a day's visit to Thanjavur to see the Raja's museum and the Big temple.

You can take a bus or a train to Madurai at the time convenient to you since the buses run 24x7!! From Madurai, take a bus or car if you can afford to Thekkady(located on the borfer between Kerala and tamilnadu). You ca spend 2days in Thekkady visiting one of the oldest tea factories and spice plantations.

From Thekkady you can take a bus to Munnar located about 108kms.

From Munnar you cna take a bus to Cochin and can stay a day or two visiting one of the oldest Jew's synagogue and Fort area. From Cochin you can fly to Goa and then to Delhi and Agra. On the return direction, take a flight from Delhi to Bangalore or Coimbatore(not sure if there is a flight to CBE).From Banaglore /Coimbatore, there are trains to Tiruchy.

Let me know if you need further information.

Hi BeWelcomers!!

I thought of bringing this thread up and make it more active, as many are joining BeWelcome per day, from CS as well as other places. I also got a guest via BeWelcome at my place a few days back, he was a Traveling Ambassador too from CS

If any of you visit Delhi, I can host you, meet you, travel with you, show you around, and help in itineraries and give good suggestions and advices about the country and its people.

Cheers!!

Ajay
