Efteling, Kaatsheuvel 6th October 2007

Lets make a crazy Idea come thrue....

At 6th October I would like to take all couchsurfers that like to visit according to many dutch as our very best themepark in Kaatsheuvel called "De Efteling"

This themepark has the webpage: www.efteling.nl

****************Costs**********************
The entrance for this themepark is kinda expensive (about 26 euro) but if we have a group of more than 20 people we can get a group ticket for 21 euro per person.

If you join count on that this day will cost you about 50 euro(all-in probably with train/busticket) or more but always after a visit to this themepark i feel very well-done as the quality of everything is very good.

********Parking******************
There is a big parking lot at the themepark, do mind that the price of the parking is 5 euro per car per day

*******Special train offer for dutch people*****
If you happen to understand the dutch language and have a bank account in the Netherlands then you can checkout for the "NS Wonderkaart".

This ticket kan ONLY be purchased online at the website:
www.ns.nl/servlet/Satellite?cid=1161180404625&pagename=www.n... />
This ticket has the following advantages:
1 -you get the entrance ticket for 22 EUR in stead of 26EUR
2 -20% extra discount on your trainticket (when having a voordeelurenkaart this is still 20% extra on the 40% you already get)
3 -Busticket included in the ticket.

*************Travel suggestions***************
To make things easy for people without a Car a Sub-meeting will be organised in 's-Hertogenbosch to go to Kaatsheuvel all together by local bus so checkout for this submeeting to joinup with people that are not comming on their own.

Check the details for that submeeting as well.

If many attendees and somebody offers to volunteer to go by bus as well from Tilburg we can also make a submeeting in Tilburg for people travelling from an other direction to the Efteling but for now its very easy for all people to ge to 's-Hertogenbosch by train as this station has many train connections.

*********spending the night before/after the meeting****
Try to find yourself a Couch in 's-Hertogenbosch so we can go partying after the Efteling in 's-Hertogenbosch during the night and take your host with us to the Efteling if they like.

*************lunch suggestion**************
a typical dutch way of saving money for lunch in this themepark is by bringing your own small little backpack with home made sandwiches and drinks for during the day.
If we find a place with grass we might stop there to picknick and have lunch.

There are plenty of restaurants but they are never very cheap inside the themepark.

You can also bring some paper for the litter guy called holle Bolle gijs who has always his mouth open and is ready to eat all your papers.

*********************Important*****************
Please be at "De Efteling" at 10:00 AM or call me if you arrive less than 30 minutes later.

Once we have 20 people we will buy the groupticket so if you are late you are not in that group and have to pay the full price.

For contact you can call me on Maikels cellphone +31 -619862904
Or Frank at: +31 621488856

Also if you are delayed 15 minutes call me so we will wait for you at the entrance.

hey Maikel, you write "all couchsurfers"...are non-couchsurfers also welcome?

Well this was a mistake by me.

Everyone is Welcome not regarding what network.

The meeting was first posted on Couchsurfing but its now posted on Bewelcome as well.

My co-organiser will take care of the posting on Hospitalityclub as well and if people like to promote in other kinda networks too thats welcome as well.

Probably most dutch people make use of the discount deal from the dutch railroad company but as foreigner this is not possible beceause these tourists don't have a dutch bank account.

If there are more than 20 people without ticket at the themepark they can get the same discount but if less than they have to pay the full fare.

Normally De Efteling is covering about 50.000 people a day in high season so the park is always big enough.

Also when we stay together as one big group the waiting for the rides will take about the same time or maybe we have to wait for 1, 2 or 3 trains before our group is complete again.
