Hi there

I will be atenting to a local unconference event called barcamp. http://www.barcamp.com.ar/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp

I would like to make a presentation on bewelcome focusing on its open organization and software.

I'm plannign to base mostly on the content in the faqs, stats, and wiki, such as  http://www.bewelcome.org/wiki/press%20information

I would like to know if anyone has some other presentation or text that might help

thanks

Pablo

Moin Pablo, I thought about doing something like this myself, but didn't have the opportunity yet. So at least I could support you with proofreading / hints. Well, if it is in English. Unfortunately I won't be a help with Spanish. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm going to do it in spanish

but i could discuss the structure here in english

this is my idea so far:

  1. The Idea
  2. What is hospitality exchange?
  3. Introducing BW
  4. BW members
  5. Can anybody become a member of BeWelcome?
  6. Using the Site: Cool Tools
  7. How secure is BeWelcome
  8. How BeWelcome is Organised
  9. Organisational values
  10. BeWelcome Facts and Figures
  11. Some stats
  12. The software behind BW
  13. Other open source tools we use
  14. How is this project financed?
  15. How can I help BeWelcome?
  16. Closing credits

based on

http://www.bewelcome.org/faq
http://www.bewelcome.org/about
http://www.bewelcome.org/wiki/press%20information
http://www.bewelcome.org/wiki/Organisational_values
http://www.bewelcome.org/tour
http://www.bewelcome.org/stats

Am I missing something?  should I mention the Servas project?

Moin Pablo, sorry for being slow in replying, but I've got the good old hospexexcuse: travelling;). Your structure makes sense for me. If point 2 contains a short history of hospex, you need to mention Servas. I also think, it doesn't harm to mentioned Servas or the cooperation in the making.

I'd add a point like problems with hospex: some is security related, some is more related to organisational values, quality-vs-quantity and so. One of the main reasons why BW exist are the downsides of CS/HC, but still these networks are much bigger and at least CS is much more useful to find a couch. But if you want to focus on a short introduction of BW this is maybe too much.
