What is BeVolunteer?

written by thorgal67 - 2012/09/27 23:05

Whenever there are new members joining our community, they tend to be confused by the distinction between BeVolunteer (BV) and BeWelcome (BW).

Well, simply put, BeVolunteer is the legal non-profit association that runs BeWelcome. Under French law, BV is required to hold a General Assembly once a year where the Financial Accounts and the Annual Report are approved, and where a new Board of Directors (BoD) is elected for the next year.

This year the General Assembly will take place in two parts: first an online part, then a real-life meeting in Halle/Saale, Germany in the weekend of 13-14 October 2012.

Everything you've always wanted to ask (but didn't know where to look) is listed in our BeVolunteer Wiki.

hello frank, thanks to you and everyone else for holding the strings together on the non-technical end of running this joint! all those words like "report" and "law" make me dizzy already when reading them. :-P ok, back to the zeros and ones.. ;)

Great post...

Thanks! It's always a good idea to point new members to the relevant pages.
